Abstract
bullet Abstract In the last years, the field of security has become one of the main strategic focuses of computer science research around the globe.
To reach the appropriate critical mass, the SRO (Strategic Research Orientations) focuses mainly on mobility and e-business. Mobility requires a flexible infrastructure and mobile devices. This results in a number of technical challenges for the security engineer which are summarized in the first research theme: System Security. On the other hand, the application focus on e-business results in technical and non-technical challenges linked to the representation, semantics and usage of the actual content being processed by the infrastructure and the devices. These aspects are bundled into the second research theme: Content Protection. These two areas have some overlap, but difference in nature warrants a division into two application themes.
