| Mission |
The Foundation for Fundamental Research on Matter (FOM) promotes, co-ordinates and finances fundamental physics research in the Netherlands. It is an autonomous foundation responsible to the physics division of the national research council NWO. Specific research areas are nanophysics and research at the interface of physics and biology. Subsequent areas are: subatomic physics (particle physics and nuclear physics); nanophysics / nanotechnology; condensed matter physics and optical physics; physics of life processes; fusion physics; phenomenological physics. |
