Mission To design and develop world-class innovative space instruments for astrophysical and earth-oriented research and to analyze the data provided by these instruments for advanced research. It is SRON's ambition to act as PI-institute for the development of state-of-the-art satellite instruments for space research missions of ESA, NASA or other space agencies. |SRON promotes, coordinates and supports Dutch activities in space research. |SRON advises the Dutch government on the participation in international space research programs, in paricular those of the European Space Agency (ESA). |SRON supports the national knowledge economy by making its knowledge and expertise available to the Dutch society.
Addition Het SRON-instituut bestaat uit twee vestigingen: SRON Utrecht en SRON Groningen (adres: Landleven 12, 9747 AD Groningen; Postbus 800, 9700 AV Groningen; tel. +31-50-3634074). De SRON heeft in 1983 de taken overgenomen van de in 1960 ingestelde Commissie voor Geofysica en Ruimteonderzoek.
